EFS since the year 2000, used the “No for Plastic BAGS” slogan for its awareness campaign about plastic bags but then all sort of single-use plastics. With the UNEP year for beatplasticpollution,

EFS launched many activities like the Bahraini version of  the global “Plastic Attack” movement. It held and participated in many activities to spread awareness and held several debates about alternatives. Plastic attack initiative was an important in Bahrain that raise awareness on the huge number/amount of plastics that is used in packaging and keeping different types of food including fruits and vegetables.

It also started from the year 2016 to manufacture its own shopping bags for vegetables and fruits to stop the overuse of plastic bags in food groceries. It also introduced alternatives and shared them with the members and friends and EFS families and winners of EFS environmental contests. .EFS uses and encourages re-used objects, like reused books, and sharing toys and items amongst the members.   EFS attacked all new trends to use more plastic waste and explained to public why they should not follow them.
